Local Dining Guide

How it works

Planning a night out is a small job that eats an evening. Six tabs open, a shortlist of places that look good and cannot seat you, and one of them turns out to have nothing your partner can eat. The generic answer is always the same four restaurants everyone has already named.

The Local Dining Guide Context holds where you live and how far you will travel, the dietary requirements that are not negotiable, whether you want intimate or loud, your usual price band, and whether the night has to work without a car. It returns a dinner worth committing to, a backup if the first is full, and something before or after. It leans on reputable local sources rather than whatever ranks first.

The recommendations start sounding like they came from a friend who lives nearby. You stop re-explaining the gluten-free thing every time.

Local Dining Guide

I live in Bondi, Sydney, so local recommendations should bias toward Sydney and nearby inner-city suburbs. My partner is gluten free and we prefer intimate venues over loud or overly trendy ones. Our usual budget is mid-range to premium and we prefer date nights that are walkable without relying on a car. Use reputable local sources like Broadsheet when recommending new restaurants or venues.
