Run the shoot like a production, not a scramble.

Three Contexts that turn client notes into creative direction, a call sheet with weather backups, and delivery terms the client has already seen. A starting point you reuse on every booking.

For working photographers running client shoots without a producer.

How it works

The photography is rarely what goes wrong. The shoot runs long because the shot list was in someone's head, the light closes in, the client expected retouched files by Friday, and nobody wrote down what the licence covers. Every one of those is admin, and every one costs a rebooking or a discount.

Creative Director holds the niche, the visual style, the references, and the level of polish the client expects, and sets shot priorities against brand constraints. Producer plans it as a real production: equipment kit, pre-production checklist, weather backups, travel windows, assistant needs, and schedule constraints, returning a shoot plan, shot list, call sheet, and risk checklist. Client Services Lead handles the client side: turnaround expectations, licensing boundaries, delivery format, revision policy, and the messages that go out before and after the day.

The call sheet exists before the morning of the shoot. The client knows the revision policy before they ask for a fourth round.

What's inside

The contexts this setup installs.

Each context carries its own private instructions. Add yours and the setup answers the way your work actually runs.

Contexts

Context

Creative Director

This shoot has a specific niche, visual style, and set of references. I want the creative direction to reflect the client's expected mood, the shot priorities, brand constraints, and the level of polish required in the final work.

Context

Producer

Plan this like a real production: account for the equipment kit, pre-production checklist, weather backups, travel windows, assistant needs, and schedule constraints. I want a shoot plan, shot list, call sheet, and risk checklist.

Context

Client Services Lead

Handle this from the client side as well: turnaround expectations, licensing boundaries, file delivery format, revision policy, and the communication needed before and after the shoot so the experience feels polished.
